Each week I am trying to set a different goal for myself so that I don't get bored and fall off the wagon again. This last week I set the goal to walk/jog/run/sprint a total of 26.2 miles, the distance of a marathon.
Wednesday 5/25: 3 miles on the treadmill
Thursday 5/26: 3 miles on the treadmill, 1000m on rowing machine
Friday 5/27: 3.2 miles on treadmill in 36:21
Saturday 5/28: 3 miles on treadmill
Sunday 5/29: 5 miles in 59:58 and then .25 cool down on treadmill
Monday 5/30: 6 miles on the treadmill, .5 mile walking to Walmart and back
Tuesday 5/31: 2.25 miles on the treadmill, MISSION COMPLETE!
I know that my body is changing little by little. I'm able to do 10 chin-ups at the gym and I only need 78# of assistance whereas I started out needing 90 or more in the beginning. I can hold the plank position for one full minute but it is a killer! I'm loving all my new athletic gear. I got this cute running skirt at Ross Dress 4 Less yesterday for only $7.99 and I got the top at Old Navy this weekend for only $2.73. My closet is now 1/3 dresses and skirts, 1/3 athletic wear, and 1/3 regular street clothes.
I have completely changed up my diet due to a couple challenges that I'm participating in over at FatSecret. The first one is called Beachbody by Summer: 4 Week Challenge and it just started. It is going to be done in conjunction with Jose and I doing the P90X program. One of the weekly goals is to eat foods from the top two tiers of Michi's Ladder and that is very tough! Something must be working because I went from 158.6 lbs last week to 154.8 lbs this morning, over 3 pounds down in one week!
I did order some new products this week to help me track my weight loss and muscle gain with a little more accuracy. The first is a skin caliper so I can take measurements on 6 different areas of the body to determine my body fat percentage and which areas of my body are losing more or less than others. Skin calipers are more accurate than the tape test. I also ordered a fitness tape measure so I can continue to check my measurements overall over the next 90 days.
The nice thing about the tape measure is that it's easy for one person to use alone and it applies the same amount of tension each time so I don't have to worry about doing it too tight or too loose from week to week. I will post my measurements on a monthly basis. Next week I will go more into using skin calipers and our measurements.
